In our mini-glossary, you’ll find working definitions and an overview of key terms, and the main neurotypes that have, over time, become part of the neurodiversity and disability-inclusion conversation.
This is intended as a ‘quick start’ guide, for those new to the subject. They are short summaries which can be supplemented by the further detailed definitions and stats which can be found in our Further Reading Resource.
Dr Deborah Leveroy Head of Research
Dr Deborah Leveroy has a Ph.D. in dyslexia, performance training, and inclusion from the University of Kent.
Her practice-based research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, books, and toolkits (including Routledge, and the British Dyslexia Association).Deborah is also an Honorary Research Fellow in the Centre for Healthcare and Communities at Coventry University

Bronwyn has worked in a wide range of sectors - both private and public - including technology, telecoms and robotics in roles across Business Partnering, Learning & Development and Reward.An experienced Employee Disability Network Lead they enjoy mentoring and supporting other late-diagnosed autistic people.For the past 3 years, they have been working with Coventry University and Sussex University to support research into how disabled and/or neurodivergent people experience remote work.
